Dear Soleila follows a Brooklyn family welcoming their second child through a home birth, widening the frame of birth storytelling to include the father, older sibling, and wider circle surrounding the child’s arrival. Built from family archive, cellphone footage, interviews, and observational material, the film traces Alicia and Herman Jean-Noël’s journey from conception to postpartum.
